Merry Christmas

Well, it is a Public Holiday, while everyone is happily celebrating Christmas, JY and I are busily shifting the furnitures. We have re-arrange the wires and speakers so that we can accomodate the radio in the TV room, easily for me to play nursery rythms for Ernest to enjoy :-) And JY has planned for a more long term one, so that even if Ernest can crawl, he can't reach any of the electronics (Well, one up for JY and 0 for Ernest).

Well, at this point, I must mention an old wife's tale, cannot shift things (which include furnitures and electronics) in the house. But I don't why not? Since there is a little one coming, there must be adjustments made to get ready for the new addition right? If not? Wait till birth-day, then leave everything for JY to complete in 1 or 2 days?

Sometimes logic and old-wife's tale just cannot go hand in hand.

Panda Eyes

Well, going to be sooooo lack of sleep from now onwards. Ernest has taken a liking to kicking at night and wee morning ONLY!!!! Errrr.... Couldn't sleep well, so has been waking up at 5,7am, even if it is a HOLIDAY....

Errr...... I want my sleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh, tested the CDs, Grandma and Aunt Nora bought for him last night, and Ernest seems to like it, he responsed with even more kicks... How about a wave instead of kick?

Well, 4 more months to go :-)

19 Dec 2007 : Gynae Check-up

Yesterday went for a check-up, put on another 1.5kg. So it is a total of 3.5kg for the past 6 months :-)

Yesterday is the 1st time I ate McDonalds Fries :-) ever since I am preganant. Wow.... Missed it soooooooooooooo much.... Okie, that's the one and only one. Too high a salt intake.

I bought the Breast Pump yesterday at the Hospital too. Value Pack, pump, plus cooler bag, plus breast pads, plus breast crack cream :-) In the pack, there is a total of 6 bottles and 1 ice pack. And there goes my bonous on it... I know I know, I am 10 steps ahead again... Well, it is better to buy 1st since I am mobile and still able to shop around till I 'ache'.

Next round of shopping : Post-Christmas Shopping :-)

Pregnancy makes me a Sotong :-(

Pregnancy really makes me blur like Sotong.

1) The day before, I store my colleague's HP number under my boss's name.
2) Yesterday, I board a bus with my ez-link card on hand, but I didn't tap it.
3) Today, I applied my night cream on my face before coming out.

What's next?????

Nappy or Diapers for the 1st 3 months

I have been doing a lot of research online and consulting my friends who are caring for their 'little' ones. :-) (Rabbit must be thinking that I am jumping 5 steps ahead again)

Seems like a real struggle to decide on which one to use:

Nappy
Advantages:
1) Long term savings, which is important
2) Less likely to have nappy rash
3) Enviromentally Friendly

Disadvantages:
1) Time consuming, in terms of cleaning and washing
2) Have to be cautious, must sterlises

Disposable Diapers
Advantages:
1) No hassle as it is disposable
2) Convienient to buy

Disadvantages
1) Enviromentally unfriendly
2) Costly (a New Born needs an average of 8 diapers a day, 8*7*4*3*$0.30=$201.60)
3) Higher chance of nappy rash

Hmmmm... what do u all think? I am still considering :-)

Chinese customs

There are Chinese customs which I like and dislike. Friends and relatives should know better :-)

There is only one Chinese customs which I like so far, Maternal Grandparents got to buy gold for the grandchild :-) Went shopping with Mum over the weekend, and got a really cute disney baby gold pendent. Just realised that Ernest is going to be born in the year of Rat, so what's a better character to represent that? Mickey Baby Mouse:

For those wondering what to give to Ernest, well, Poh Heng has a wide selection of Mickey Baby Jewellery series, which I have eyeing for a looooooooooooong looooooooong time..... All the designs soooooooooooooo cute :-p

5 and a half months

According to the website, Ernest is now a minature baby, with all organs developed. During these 2 weeks, there are a few more changes:
1) More frequent cramps at night :-(
2) More frequent kicking from Ernest, especially when I am leaning forward or sitting down.
3) Irregualr bowel movement, wonder if Ernest is sitting on my colon?
4) Increased appetitie, eat almost every 2 hours.
5) Increased Body temperature, it is a good thing now, but not so in Mar or Apr....
6) Achness in the calf muscles returned, must be walked too much :-(
7) Become breathless when climbing bridge.....
8) I can't fit into any of my clothes now, now officially wearing maternaity wear everyday.
9) Occassionally people will give up their seats for me in the bus.

Well... see if I can add more in the next few weeks, hopefully positive ones :-)

Prenatal Yoga

Now I remember why I don't like yoga. 1st, I am not flexible enough; 2ndly, I am not that 'aware' of the body. Find it very diffcult to keep up with the movements :-(

Ernest seems to enjoy it quite a lot, he doesn't kick much when I am doing Yoga... Think the breathing technique helps to calm him down too :-)

First Kick

When I was watching TV last night, I felt the 1st kick from Ernest :-) It is the first time I can feel it. It is like Ernest is swimming inside, from the left then to the Centre, then left and disappear. Maybe he's trying to tell me something? Like watch cartoon instead of drama serial?

A pity JY wasn't in, if not he can feel it.

5 months now

It has been 5 months, and I am halfway there... Still going strong :-) Some thoughts for these 5 months:

1) It is a wonderful feeling to have a little one growing in me.
2) Outgrowing my clothes slowly.
3) Putting on weight slowly.
4) Changes in energy level.
5) Changes in lifestyle - no more pubbing, no more late nights and no more housework :-)

Will see if I can add on to the list in the coming months.

It is confirmed : Ernst Yong

Went for a check up today, and the Ultrasound alone took up an hour, cause the system hang on me. And yes, it is a boy :-) Even have a picture on the proof :-p

Ernst looked a bit funny in the screen, or maybe today's check-up emphasize on bones, he looked so skinny.. But Gynae commented that he is a bit big, so I got to eat lesser :-( During the ultrasound, I saw him open his mouth, so interesting :-), wonder what he's trying to say. Halfway through the ultrasound, the system hang, so I got to wait outside. When I went back in, Ernst has flipped over, faced down, so I got to lie on my right, so that can continue scanning.

Hmmmm... it seems that Ernst doesn't like Ultrasound, always hide away from it.

It is 4 months now :-)

Okie, now that it is 4 months, I don't puke that much (thankfully) but still get nausea if I am too hungry or too full (Errrrrr)...

And JY has a dream last night, he dreamt that he was notified that I am carrying a boy. (Hmmmm, hopefully he won't be disappointed if it turn out the other way, as what dreams also does...)

I am counting my blessing, as I still can fit into most of my dresses, hopefully will still be in shape till Jessie's wedding :-) Keeping my finges and toes cross.

Legs still ache though, and couldn't sleep well at night. Keep getting up to adjust the postition and go toilet.

No tummy showing yet

Today one of my colleagues commented why no baby bump? Heheheee :-p Not don't have lah... but still early wat....

Aching Legs

Don't know why my legs ache sooooo much... I spent the whole Sunday laying down and with minimin walking, but my legs still aches.....

Hmmmmm... is it because of Baby? Or just me?

*Sigh*

Just nice

Baby Yong is 7cm long now, just the nice lenght for 13 weeks :-) So I am not eating too much nor too little.

Very glad that Baby Yong is growing well, just that hope the nausea will go away soon. Really don't like the feeling of going toilet to vomit every evening :-(

2nd Oct : Last 1st trimester scanning

Went for the last 1st trimester scanning, but Baby was very naughty, don't want to turn in the correct orientation, so I got to cough hard, turn my body to the side, and drink till my bladder is full. Tried all sorts of methods but still doesn't work. So a normally 30 min scan took 1 hour plus to complete.

*Sigh*...... Baby showing character like Daddy... lazy, only want to sleep :-p

Name for Baby Yong

We were thinking name for Baby Yong, as JY's sister 1st born is Cassandra, 2nd born is Dorothy, so ours should start with E.

For girl, we have agreed that it will be Egwene, and for boy, JY chose Ernest (I have no objection, as long as it is not Eugene).

Confinement

Talked to Rabbit yesterday.... She told me a horrible thing... During confinement, mothers are not supposed to bath... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... How can anyone stand NOT bathing for one month???? I MUST wash my hair everyday... It is SO UNHYGIENCE!!!

*Sigh* Must bargain with Mummy about this.... No way can I stand not bathing for a day, let alone a month....

Myths......

Who told me that the 1st trimester was the most horrible period, once it is over, no more vomitting, no more tireness????

I think my vomitting worsen... to twice a day, and even more tire than ever.....

I am trying to decrease my dependence on sour plum... so I turned to Calamarsi Juice :-) Hope it will work as well.....

Tonics for Baby Only.....

So sad... Whatever food or tonics I take, it is only for Baby Yong. When asked is there any tonics for Mummy? The answer is, after birth....

So I am jus a child bearing machine????

I hope it is a Baby Girl

Dry Skin

Hmmm... they say pregnant women will have a glow, but people have been commenting I looked pale.

And worst, I got dry skin, skin peeling off my hands and feet... And my lips too. What's happening. And I can't drink plain water now, must add honey then I will finish it.

I have tuned motherly??

Rumours are flying around the office that I am pregnant, and one more ridiculous one, is that I have became more motherly.

Hmmmmm.... Pregnancy can change one's look? Or do I look very fierce in the past?

Confirmed EDD : 10 Apr 2008

Yesterday, went for the check up, and the gynae has confirmed that the EDD is 10 Apr 2008. Was excited and a bit nervous, Baby Yong has stablised, and all will be well as long as Baby Yong remains in my womb till the 3rd month (approx end Sep/early Oct). Pray for me and Baby.

Well Pregnancy has changed me in a few ways:
1) Brushing teeth is now a diffcult task, what normally takes 3 mins, now takes 20 mins to do so, as I tend to get nausea while brushing, so got to stop and rest.
2) Eating habits have changed. Now sour plum is a thing that must have in my bag, as I can get nausea anytime.
3) Timing of eating has to be precise, any delay, well, who is going to clean up the mess?
4) Clothing are getting tighter, and I will need a change of warerobe soon :-)

P/S: I have gained 2kg for the past 3 weeks, and Baby Yong has grew from 3mm to 19mm too :-) Baby and Mummy grow together.
