Dinosours

Went to Plaza Sing and chanced upon the dino exhibition, pretty impressive as there's sound with movement. E is quite entertained by them:

Visit to Natty

Went to visit Amelia and the princess.

Think what E will be thinking:
Zac Zac Kor Kor very nice, shared all his toys with me

Kayden Kor Kor ignored me most of time and Mikel Kor Kor is not in good mood as he's not feeling well:

OOps didn't take picture of the princess as mummy forgot to charge camera battery and it went flat.

Mr Destructive

Bought a nice cute Winnie the Pooh cup for E to use....

But within an hour, SIGH! Let the picture do the saying:

Visit to Josiah

A last min decision to visit Josiah Di Di:

Mummy talking to Aunties while E is busy playing with Mikel's toys. There's no stopping for him as Mikel is at Child Care:

Outdoor photoshoot

I got a photographer to cover outdoor photoshoot for the 3 angels yesterday. It rained in the morning, so the road was wet but at least it is cool. The photographer was late for half an hour. The scheduled time was 8.30am but she reached at 9am.

It's pretty tiring as not all of them see the camera or smile at the same time. Only managed to capture one shot for all 3:

Hopefully the photographer can capture more.

Trial at Wee Care on 30 May 2009

Brought Ernest to a trial at Wee Care on Sat, oh my, it's sooooo early, I woke up at 6am to prepare everything, and Ernest seems to sense it. He woke up at 6.30am!

We were early, reached at 8.30am while the class is supposed to start at 9am. So while waiting, they allowed me to go up to the 'classroom'.

It's jus an open space with toys. E was busy helping himself with the toys... Then when class commence, basically it's warming up with songs and games. Then story-telling, followed by free play at another room. During the free-play, teacher Christine came and ask me what's E's character. I was stunned as no one ever asked me about it before. So I think on my feet and answered the following:
1) Stubborn
2) Wilful
3) Impatient

Then guess what, the Teacher said that these 3 are not so much of his characters rather a growing phase known as 'Terrible Two'. As this is the period of time where they know they can 'order' things around. So we got to give them choices and let this phase pass. [Well, I never knew that....]

Then we have snacks for the kids and the teachers discussed some methods of teaching kids with us, and go round the table to discuss. Last is more physical activity, ball pool and sand pool. But poor E, he never like both as he's jus happy standing at the corner and throwing balls.

And the lesson end at 10.30am, with a song and a stamp for each kid.

Overall, I have quite good feelings about Wee Care. The ratio of Teacher to Child is 1:2, which I am quite comfortable. There are 2 Chinese speaking and 2 English speaking teachers, which I think it's a well balance of bilingual. And plenty of physical activity for the teachers to observe their development. The teachers remembered each kid and actually asked the parent how's it, any improvements which I think it's pretty cool. Oh, and the teachers thought E was 15 mths cause he was running up and down most of the time.....

And guess what, after we reached home and had lunch. Both mother and kid knock out. Ernest actually napped for 3 hours straight.

Milestone for Ernest

Ernest knows how to drink from straw. Today I was so tired of feeding him water via spoon, so pass him the straw cup, and miracle, he managed to drink it. I double confirmed with the volume of water left.

My Little Prince is growing up :)

1st Day as SAHM

First, I will like to salute all Stay-At-Home-Mum (SAHM). Just the first day as SAHM with Ernest and I was like, I wished I am at work!!!!!

At work, I have to rack my brains to fend off office politics and trying to meet deadlines.

At home, I have to do the household chores (washing dishes and clothes, cleaning the house, cooking and etc) ONLY during Ernest's nap time (which is only twice a day at 8am and 2pm). And the rest of the day was spent keeping my little prince entertained (which is sooooo diffcult). To make things worst, when I was all ready to bring Ernest down for a walk, both lifts were down.

Can the day get any worse?

When JY comes home, going to tell him, I prefer to work.

E got his Pneumoccal Jab today

Well, since Ernest is one, it's time to give him the jab:

This is Ernest at the clinic before the jab:

This is Ernest after the jab:

I was very surprised as I heard a lot about this jab, thought Ernest is going to be cranky and moody but NO. It is the complete opposite. He was such a dear today. When the DR jabbed him, he cried but he stopped immediately when DR gave him a sticker. And no cranky and moody baby on the way home and at home.

Ernest : You are a big boy now so must behave. Keep up the good job!

Oh, I am very proud of myself. I brought Ernest to the jab all by myself :)

Ernest's thought:
Didn't take any photo during the party as mummy was busy entertaining the guests. And a BIG THANK YOU to all great-grandpa, grandpa, grandma, grant-aunt, grand-uncles, aunties, uncles, cousins, kors kors, jies jies, di di and mei mei for attending my party. Though half the time I was just playing and enjoying myself. Hope all has enjoyed the party as much as me :)

My little boy is learning how to response

He will be ONE in 3 weeks time, and his birthday celebration is in 2 weeks time. How time flies. From a crying infant to a walking, blabbing baby.

Ernest has learned to response to words and actions:
1) When u say ball ball, if he is not holding to one, he will do the throw action and say a mispronounced 'throw' in chinese. If he's holding onto one, then he will raise it up to show it to you.

2) When u say sit, and hit a spot, he will walk over to roughly that spot and sit.

3) When u say lie down, and hit a spot, he will walk over to that spot and lie down, face down.

That's all I can remember or know.... will update if anything else.

Flu bug please go away : 2 March 2009

As usual, Ernest was sleeping at night when suddenly at 10pm, he was coughing and crying. When I tried to pacify him with pacifier and carrying, NOTHING works. And the more he cried, the more he cough. And he suddenly CHOKED! till his face turned red. So we rushed him down to KKH at 11pm to see the doctor.

Guess what? Ernest slept through the journey to the KKH but was fully awake while waiting.

When the doctor seen him, other than the usual question, the 3rd question she asked which intrigue me was 'are we 1st time parents'. I was taken aback and wondered did we make a hill out of a mole by bringing him to KKH?

Well, anyway, the visit to KKH ends at around 1am, and my little sick darling refused to sleep (refuse to sleep in sarong or cot, only wants to be carried) till 3am.

What a tiring and frightening experience which I hold this is the 1st and last flu episode for Ernest.

New way to keep them occupy

Well, Ernest is growing up and will be seeking more attention and more ways to divert his energy. And guess what, grandpa has the way:

New boundary at home on 22 Feb 2009

We finally bought a safety gate to block the kitchen form Ernest. Well, as usual, Ernest thought it was a new toy, and happily helping Daddy to set up (more of hindrance in fact) the gate. When the set up is all done and he realise how come mummy and dadday are on the other side of the gate which he has no way to get in. He cried.

Some updates in February 2009

Ernest has been crusing and taking baby steps since Jan, and it is only on 2 Feb 2009 that he learnt how to clap. Not very sure if Ernest is considered quick, though he is fast in motor skills, as in crawling and walking but when it comes to social skills, like clapping and bye bye, he seems to be slower leh...

10 Feb 2009 - Introduce Pasta to Ernest and he LOVES it.

15 Feb 2009 - Kindermusik Trial at Tanglin Mall. Ernest loves it. But cheapo mummy don't want to sign up.

Ernest's 1st CNY

Ernest has enjoyed himself throughly with all the attention and concern the great-grandparents, grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunties, uncles and aunties have showered upon him. It has been a tiring 15 days for mummy and daddy though as the request for Ernest's presence has been overwhelming.

Can you tell that it's 2 different sets?
