Trial at Wee Care on 30 May 2009

Brought Ernest to a trial at Wee Care on Sat, oh my, it's sooooo early, I woke up at 6am to prepare everything, and Ernest seems to sense it. He woke up at 6.30am!

We were early, reached at 8.30am while the class is supposed to start at 9am. So while waiting, they allowed me to go up to the 'classroom'.

It's jus an open space with toys. E was busy helping himself with the toys... Then when class commence, basically it's warming up with songs and games. Then story-telling, followed by free play at another room. During the free-play, teacher Christine came and ask me what's E's character. I was stunned as no one ever asked me about it before. So I think on my feet and answered the following:
1) Stubborn
2) Wilful
3) Impatient

Then guess what, the Teacher said that these 3 are not so much of his characters rather a growing phase known as 'Terrible Two'. As this is the period of time where they know they can 'order' things around. So we got to give them choices and let this phase pass. [Well, I never knew that....]

Then we have snacks for the kids and the teachers discussed some methods of teaching kids with us, and go round the table to discuss. Last is more physical activity, ball pool and sand pool. But poor E, he never like both as he's jus happy standing at the corner and throwing balls.

And the lesson end at 10.30am, with a song and a stamp for each kid.

Overall, I have quite good feelings about Wee Care. The ratio of Teacher to Child is 1:2, which I am quite comfortable. There are 2 Chinese speaking and 2 English speaking teachers, which I think it's a well balance of bilingual. And plenty of physical activity for the teachers to observe their development. The teachers remembered each kid and actually asked the parent how's it, any improvements which I think it's pretty cool. Oh, and the teachers thought E was 15 mths cause he was running up and down most of the time.....

And guess what, after we reached home and had lunch. Both mother and kid knock out. Ernest actually napped for 3 hours straight.
