My little boy is learning how to response

He will be ONE in 3 weeks time, and his birthday celebration is in 2 weeks time. How time flies. From a crying infant to a walking, blabbing baby.

Ernest has learned to response to words and actions:
1) When u say ball ball, if he is not holding to one, he will do the throw action and say a mispronounced 'throw' in chinese. If he's holding onto one, then he will raise it up to show it to you.

2) When u say sit, and hit a spot, he will walk over to roughly that spot and sit.

3) When u say lie down, and hit a spot, he will walk over to that spot and lie down, face down.

That's all I can remember or know.... will update if anything else.

Flu bug please go away : 2 March 2009

As usual, Ernest was sleeping at night when suddenly at 10pm, he was coughing and crying. When I tried to pacify him with pacifier and carrying, NOTHING works. And the more he cried, the more he cough. And he suddenly CHOKED! till his face turned red. So we rushed him down to KKH at 11pm to see the doctor.

Guess what? Ernest slept through the journey to the KKH but was fully awake while waiting.

When the doctor seen him, other than the usual question, the 3rd question she asked which intrigue me was 'are we 1st time parents'. I was taken aback and wondered did we make a hill out of a mole by bringing him to KKH?

Well, anyway, the visit to KKH ends at around 1am, and my little sick darling refused to sleep (refuse to sleep in sarong or cot, only wants to be carried) till 3am.

What a tiring and frightening experience which I hold this is the 1st and last flu episode for Ernest.

New way to keep them occupy

Well, Ernest is growing up and will be seeking more attention and more ways to divert his energy. And guess what, grandpa has the way:

New boundary at home on 22 Feb 2009

We finally bought a safety gate to block the kitchen form Ernest. Well, as usual, Ernest thought it was a new toy, and happily helping Daddy to set up (more of hindrance in fact) the gate. When the set up is all done and he realise how come mummy and dadday are on the other side of the gate which he has no way to get in. He cried.

Some updates in February 2009

Ernest has been crusing and taking baby steps since Jan, and it is only on 2 Feb 2009 that he learnt how to clap. Not very sure if Ernest is considered quick, though he is fast in motor skills, as in crawling and walking but when it comes to social skills, like clapping and bye bye, he seems to be slower leh...

10 Feb 2009 - Introduce Pasta to Ernest and he LOVES it.

15 Feb 2009 - Kindermusik Trial at Tanglin Mall. Ernest loves it. But cheapo mummy don't want to sign up.

Ernest's 1st CNY

Ernest has enjoyed himself throughly with all the attention and concern the great-grandparents, grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunties, uncles and aunties have showered upon him. It has been a tiring 15 days for mummy and daddy though as the request for Ernest's presence has been overwhelming.

Can you tell that it's 2 different sets?

Only Grandpa can calm him down:
