Nappy or Diapers for the 1st 3 months

I have been doing a lot of research online and consulting my friends who are caring for their 'little' ones. :-) (Rabbit must be thinking that I am jumping 5 steps ahead again)

Seems like a real struggle to decide on which one to use:

Nappy
Advantages:
1) Long term savings, which is important
2) Less likely to have nappy rash
3) Enviromentally Friendly

Disadvantages:
1) Time consuming, in terms of cleaning and washing
2) Have to be cautious, must sterlises

Disposable Diapers
Advantages:
1) No hassle as it is disposable
2) Convienient to buy

Disadvantages
1) Enviromentally unfriendly
2) Costly (a New Born needs an average of 8 diapers a day, 8*7*4*3*$0.30=$201.60)
3) Higher chance of nappy rash

Hmmmm... what do u all think? I am still considering :-)

Chinese customs

There are Chinese customs which I like and dislike. Friends and relatives should know better :-)

There is only one Chinese customs which I like so far, Maternal Grandparents got to buy gold for the grandchild :-) Went shopping with Mum over the weekend, and got a really cute disney baby gold pendent. Just realised that Ernest is going to be born in the year of Rat, so what's a better character to represent that? Mickey Baby Mouse:

For those wondering what to give to Ernest, well, Poh Heng has a wide selection of Mickey Baby Jewellery series, which I have eyeing for a looooooooooooong looooooooong time..... All the designs soooooooooooooo cute :-p

5 and a half months

According to the website, Ernest is now a minature baby, with all organs developed. During these 2 weeks, there are a few more changes:
1) More frequent cramps at night :-(
2) More frequent kicking from Ernest, especially when I am leaning forward or sitting down.
3) Irregualr bowel movement, wonder if Ernest is sitting on my colon?
4) Increased appetitie, eat almost every 2 hours.
5) Increased Body temperature, it is a good thing now, but not so in Mar or Apr....
6) Achness in the calf muscles returned, must be walked too much :-(
7) Become breathless when climbing bridge.....
8) I can't fit into any of my clothes now, now officially wearing maternaity wear everyday.
9) Occassionally people will give up their seats for me in the bus.

Well... see if I can add more in the next few weeks, hopefully positive ones :-)

Prenatal Yoga

Now I remember why I don't like yoga. 1st, I am not flexible enough; 2ndly, I am not that 'aware' of the body. Find it very diffcult to keep up with the movements :-(

Ernest seems to enjoy it quite a lot, he doesn't kick much when I am doing Yoga... Think the breathing technique helps to calm him down too :-)

First Kick

When I was watching TV last night, I felt the 1st kick from Ernest :-) It is the first time I can feel it. It is like Ernest is swimming inside, from the left then to the Centre, then left and disappear. Maybe he's trying to tell me something? Like watch cartoon instead of drama serial?

A pity JY wasn't in, if not he can feel it.

5 months now

It has been 5 months, and I am halfway there... Still going strong :-) Some thoughts for these 5 months:

1) It is a wonderful feeling to have a little one growing in me.
2) Outgrowing my clothes slowly.
3) Putting on weight slowly.
4) Changes in energy level.
5) Changes in lifestyle - no more pubbing, no more late nights and no more housework :-)

Will see if I can add on to the list in the coming months.

It is confirmed : Ernst Yong

Went for a check up today, and the Ultrasound alone took up an hour, cause the system hang on me. And yes, it is a boy :-) Even have a picture on the proof :-p

Ernst looked a bit funny in the screen, or maybe today's check-up emphasize on bones, he looked so skinny.. But Gynae commented that he is a bit big, so I got to eat lesser :-( During the ultrasound, I saw him open his mouth, so interesting :-), wonder what he's trying to say. Halfway through the ultrasound, the system hang, so I got to wait outside. When I went back in, Ernst has flipped over, faced down, so I got to lie on my right, so that can continue scanning.

Hmmmm... it seems that Ernst doesn't like Ultrasound, always hide away from it.
